Rule change proposals 2021

The Neurodivergent Labour Executive submits the following proposed changes to ND Labour’s rules:

1. REMOVAL OF LABOUR PARTY REGISTERED SUPPORTERS

4. DELETE first paragraph of (b)

2. RENAMING REGISTERED SUPPORTERS AS ‘SUPPORTING MEMBERS’

Throughout the constitution, DELETE ‘registered supporters’ and INSERT ‘supporting members’

3. REVISING MEMBERSHIP OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

In rule 5(a) , DELETE list of officers and replace with:

Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Officer, Trade Union Officer, Training and Education Officer, Publicity and Communications Officer, Website Officer, Campaigns Officer, Labour Party Liaison Officer.

INSERT after the list of Officers: ‘a Deputy for each Officer post, who shall assist the Officer in their role and deputise in their absence’.

DELETE ‘1 x Website Administrator (Technical) + 1 co-opted member to support the Training & Education Officer.’

DELETE ‘Up to 2 Neurodivergent Labour members, appointed as auditors in the interests of the membership and the organisation.’

Throughout the constitution, DELETE ‘Vice-Chair’ and INSERT ‘Deputy Chair’; DELETE ‘Vice-Secretary’ and INSERT ‘Deputy Secretary’; DELETE ‘Vice-Treasurer’ and INSERT ‘Deputy Treasurer’

4. RULE CHANGE – SUPPORTING MEMBERS

ADD to Rule 5(a):

Two representatives elected by and from supporting members to be non-voting members of the Executive.

In Rule 4(b), DELETE ‘(other than the AGM and Executive Committee)’
