With the General Election fast approaching its important for us to mobilise our movement to help Labour into power.
Only Labour will introduce policies that support the Neurodivergent community, so it is vital that we support them in any way we can.
Step One – Register To Vote!
If you’re not registered to vote, you can do so at gov.uk/register-to-vote which is the government’s website.
if you don’t have access to a computer or the internet, ask a friend, visit your local library or ring up your local council who will send you a paper form in the post to fill out and return to them. you can also find the details for your local council using THIS TOOL on the gov.uk website.
If you can’t make it to the polling station for whatever reason, then you can also apply for a postal vote through your local council’s website. If you don’t know the details for your local council then just use the tool linked above and once you’re there, you can search for “postal vote” and you should be able to register for one. Postal vote applications close on the 26th November.
Step Two – Campaigning & Canvassing!
This step is optional, but if you have the time and energy to campaign then you have two options:
1) My Campaign Map – A website made by socialist society Momentum. Pop your postcode into the box and it comes up with a list of your nearest campaigning events on a big map.
2) Labour Legends – Another Momentum website, except this one is focused more towards people who have a lot of free time on their hands and can volunteer for part or all of the campaign trail. Momemtum can either station you in a marginal seat in the UK, in your constituency/a marginal seat near there, or on a digital team if outdoor canvassing isn’t your thing/not possible for whatever reason.
Step Three – Attend our Annual General Meeting
On the 30th of November, we will be having our founding annual general meeting at Unite The Union Headquarters in Holborn, London. You can find out more information about this event on our Annual General Meeting Page, including the agenda and directions to the venue via an interactive map.
If you wish to attend, you must sign up to do so via our Eventbrite page.
Step Four – Download our resources!
We have some placards/leaflets available for download, which you can share here there and everywhere with your friends, family, other labour supporters and anyone who you think should vote labour. Here is one of the placards, shown below. Download them from the general election dropdown menu.
Step Five – VOTE LABOUR!
Head down to your polling stations (open between 7AM and 10PM so there’s enough time for you to go and vote!), fill out & send back your postal votes, but most importantly – VOTE LABOUR ON DECEMBER THE 12TH!
